DTI. Industrial Double Tube
The DTI type heat exchanger is a double tube heat exchanger (tube within a tube). Both the inner and the outer tube have a hard corrugation for increasing the heat transfer.
The product flows through the inner tube and the service fluid through the annulus between the inner and outer tube. Because of its geometry, the DTI heat exchanger is a true counter current heat exchanger.
An expansion joint (bellows) is fitted in the shell to allow for differential expansion of the inner and outer tubes during operation.
Application:
Due to the interior cross section the DTI type heat exchanger is suited for:
- Fluids that contain fibres or other types of solid particles.
- Fluids of low to intermediate viscosities and non Newtonian fluids.
Connections:
The DTI series standard service and product side connections are DIN 2502 flanges with raised faces according to DIN 2503 to guarantee pressure soundness.
Materials:
Standard DTI models have an outer shell in AISI 304 stainless steel and inner tubes in AISI 316L stainless steel. Other materials are available on request.
Contact HRS for the necessary details.
Surface finish:
The standard surface finish of the DTI heat exchanger is externally polished with the internal surface of the inner tube unpolished.
Other standards of surface finish are available on request. Contact HRS for details.
Design conditions:
The standard DTI series heat exchangers are designed for working at a pressure of 10 bar(g) and a temperature of
185°C.
